Self-Motivation:
Over the course of my International Internship at Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento I was able to increase my self-motivation. Every week, sometimes everyday I worked, I was given a list of tasks to complete and then set off to do them generally with no one checking up to see if they were completed. I used my self-motivation to complete each of the tasks to my fullest extent as well as leaving copies for my supervisors. One of the tasks I found difficult to keep myself motivated through was the scanning and deletion of photos in the hotels Dropbox. This was challenging because I could easily distract myself with non work related things but continued to keep on task and clear out many unnecessary photographs that were being stored.
Collaboration:
Collaboration has been a very important piece of my International Internship at the Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento. Working with individuals from a different cultural and educational background may seem like something frustrating but I have found that this is the best learning experience. I collaborate on a daily basis with my supervisor Alessia. From social media work, to the process of planning the events at the hotel, to learning about the different programing systems out there that help to organize information, Alessia and I work together to share information we know and learn new things from each other. One day while working on Instagram, Alessia asked me about some of my cover photos for the Instagram stories, this led to a conversation about how to use the program Canva to create posts.
Open to New Ideas:
One of the greatest skills my International Internship at the Hotel Mediterraneo has taught me is to be open to new ideas, to trying new skills and further developing how you complete tasks. Within the first couple weeks of my internship, they let me take over the social media for the hotel as well as their wedding pages. This helped them to see how I worked online but also led to many critiques and revisions. The first revision I was asked to make was the use of more hashtags, which I had never really thought would be important but later found that this is how they reach a broader more international audience. Later, one of my supervisors, Francesco, sat me down to tell me that he liked my work but he would like to see me use the hashtags inside the captions rather than using so many underneath the captions. I took this revision and redeveloped a more refined caption for the posts that would engage the followers while also gaining us more followers from the use of the hashtag. Each time I ask for feedback on the social media, I am excited to learn something new and further refine my skills.
Leadership:
Summer "Jumpstart" Orientation Leader at Fredonia: As a Jumpstart leaders preparing students for their entrance into university life at Fredonia, I represented the campus as well as the student population. I guided groups of incoming students around for a day filled with workshops and getting to know our university. I answered questions regarding the different hangout spots on campus, the amount of clubs, organizations and sports teams we had and how to make the most out of your college experience.

One of Fredonia's Representatives at the SUNYAC Student Athlete Advisory Committee Conference: During the Fall 2018, I represented Fredonia at the SUNYAC Student Athlete Advisory Committee Conference in Syracuse, New York. At the conference we participated in a Special Olympics and meeting focused on our goals for the upcoming year. We discussed Mental Health and how we as an organization were going to bring about awareness to our school communities as well as the Conference. I was lucky enough to be the first Cheerleader to attend the conference and am extremely proud to represent Fredonia at such an outstanding level.

Co-President of the Inaugural Class of Omicron Delta Kappa at Fredonia: As a leadership student at Fredonia, I was honored to represent the department as well as my fellow students as the President representative from the Leadership Department. Along with my Co-President, I put together the first ever ceremony and helped to arrange emails to be sent to eligible members, secured the necessary items for the reception and invited distinguished guests. I also ran meeting with my fellow e-board members and our advisors.

Social Media
Social Media for Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento: During my International Internship I worked on social media to improve the number of the followers, likes and impressions on their Facebook and Instagram posts. I worked to increase the number of people who viewed Instagram stories and the use of hashtags in posts both on Instagram and Facebook.

Time Management:
My university experience has truly enhanced my time management skills. While studying and being a Dean's List student, I am also a member of the Athletic Department on campus as part of the cheerleading team. I participate in weekly work out sessions with the department trainers, I am our teams representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as well as the SUNYAC wide Committee. Being in Athletics has truly helped me to make time management a priority when planning anything. Planning out my day and making time for being in clubs on campus, being on a sports team while still keeping high grades is very tough but it has helped me to better develop my skills.

Public Speaking:
The Keeper of the Dream Scholarship program has helped me to better develop my public speaking skills. Each year we practice speeches in front of our peers to prepare for our big speech in front of our parents, high up faculty members, including the University President, and other community members/sponsors. Having this opportunity to practice real life scenarios of speaking in front of other people has helped to grow my confidence in speaking but also has helped me to improve my writing within the speech.
